logoRines - J. Creighton Passed away at home on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the age of 70. He was the beloved husband of Elenor Wardrop, and father of LeDonna Bussineau (Mark) and Allan Rines (Kathy), grandfather of Dean and Maxine. Creighton is also survived by his sister Isabelle (Thomas) Johnson, his brother Kenneth (Jackie) Rines, and his brother-in-law Emile Kuzyk. Creighton was predeceased by his wife Roberta, his parents Charles Creighton and Kathleen Rines, his brother Allan, and his sister Donna. Born in Princeton, Creighton moved to Quesnel as a teenager. For a time he drove truck; he knew all the stops and mail boxes on Highway 97 between Ashcroft and Prince George. His fulfilling 40-year career at Weldwood of Canada left him with many good memories, and in retirement Creighton missed the daily contact with his many friends and colleagues. With more free time, Creighton golfed, travelled, and spent treasured time with family and friends. He became increasingly active in Freemasonry. Having served as Master in his Mother Lodge, he took on the roles of Grand Steward, District Deputy Grand Master, District Education Director, and Master in another Lodge. He was also a companion of the Royal Arch. Diagnosed with Wegener's Granulomatosis in 2001 Creighton confidently underwent treatment and enjoyed several more years of good health. He appreciated the kind and thorough care he received at Cariboo Memorial Hospital and at St. Paul's Hospital. Creighton will be missed. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Quesnel & District Seniors' Centre, 461 Carson Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Vasculitis Foundation Canada (Wegener's disease) at Suite 446, 425 Hespeler Road, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, N1R 8J6. www.vasculitis.ca
